June 5, 2013 Meeting:
To begin the process of creating a Community Plan for Shingle Springs, community members took surveys to help decide how they would like the Community of Shingle Springs to develop. The Area Plan Survey asked questions about development densities and land use preferences. The Design Guidelines Survey asked the participants to choose building designs that they would like to see within the commercial core of Shingle Springs.

Why Develop Design Guidelines?
Because 2004 El Dorado County General Plan states: "Policy 18.104.22.168 The County shall develop community design guidelines in concert with members of each community..."
The Design Guidelines only apply to new development in the Shingle Springs Town Site Core Area, which is the existing commercial, multi-family, and mixed used land designations. See the Town Site Core Area outlined in blue in the map below:
